Open applications for 2016 EducationUSA Academy for Students aged 15 to 17 to study English in U.S. campus.

Program Description:

EducationUSA Academy is a three-to-four-week summer program held on ten U.S. college and university campuses for 15- to 17-year-old students who are non-native English speaking foreign nationals and reside outside of the United States.

Students will study intensive English, learn about the process of applying to U.S. higher education institutions, explore strategies for success in a U.S. academic environment, and experience U.S. campus life.  The program will also include tours of diverse college and university campuses in the vicinity of the host institution.

Each campus will host one-to-two cohorts of approximately 20 students. Two levels of English will be offered:  Intermediate and Advanced.  Each host institution will determine its own English language assessment process, application process, and application deadline.

Students should apply directly to the institution of their choice and pay their own program and travel costs.  The program cost per student varies between $4,000 and $6,000, which will include tuition, books and materials, room and board, health insurance, and cultural activities (including campus tours). Airfare and visa fees are not included.

Program Goals

The goal of the Academy is to create a new pipeline of better prepared international high school students who may not have otherwise considered study in the United States by providing them with information and skills to apply to, and be successful as undergraduates at, U.S. higher education institutions.

In building this pipeline, we hope to diversify U.S. college and university campuses by inspiring and preparing students from around the world to return to the United States to pursue undergraduate studies.
